Revised Ordinances of Honolulu (ROH)
The code, or set of laws, for the City and County of Honolulu ("City") is officially named the Revised Ordinances of Honolulu 1990 ("ROH"). The ROH includes all ordinances of a general and permanent nature for the City. Statewide, national, and international codes are incorporated into the ROH by reference. Some examples are the International Building Code, the Uniform Plumbing Code, and the State Fire Code.
The official ROH is published in hardcopy. It is updated at least twice a year via loose-leaf supplement pages.
The Office of Council Services is the City's official Revisor of Ordinances. For convenience, Council Services updates the ROH webpage on a monthly basis, following action by the City Council, as required. This webpage and all information within it are provided only as a reference tool. When referring to the code, the official ROH should be used.
